Formed in 1929, Humboldt Fire District (HFD) has
served the greater Eureka, California area for nearly 80 years.
From the Humboldt Hill area to Indianola, HFD continues to provide
a high level of service to it's citizens in a wide array of emergencies.
HFD's service extends beyond emergency service however. From regular
fire prevention inspections, to public fire safety education, to
public CPR and First Aid training, HFD strives to help it's community
prevent many emergencies before they happen!
HFD
is a combination career / volunteer agency. HFD's 18 career firefighters
work hand in hand with volunteer fire personnel to provide efficient
service to the Fire District's 20,000+ residents. HFD also works
very closely with our neighboring fire department, the City of Eureka
Fire Department, under an automatic aid agreement. This agreement
serves both jurisdictions well and only enhances both departments'
service.
